Emma's birthday this year was so weird. John and I just kept saying "Okay, now 10 years ago at this time we were watching Oprah and I was in horrible pain." A few hours later, "Okay now the doctor was telling me I had to have a c-section and I was telling him 'no'." Usually it is all about the child, but in a funny way it was our celebration of a decade of parenthood. 10 years as a parent! It's the longest job I've ever held. The most rewarding too.
So, we went to Plucker's. Emma had a fried twinkie for a cake. No, didn't bring the camera, so I can't share the evidence. Will post her upcoming scrapbook party extravaganza.
We're so glad to have Emma. She is such a big help to us and such a good girl. I'll try not to think too hard about what she'll be up to 10 years from now and just enjoy the moment.

Has it been 10 years? Emma was such a cute baby. She's still a cute little girl. Enjoy the next 10 years--I'm sure they'll be the most fun! :)
It doesn't seem like 10 years have passed, does it? And to think I remember that little chick coming into the world!! Happy Birthday Emma!
