Foul Weather Friend

Okay, I couldn't resist adding the cheesy '80's song for this entry. Let me be frank; today was not a stellar day for me. No one was terrible or awful. I didn't find out I had a life-threatening disease, or get in a car accident. I'm just tired and I don't feel terribly well (a bit of a sinus infection, I believe). I started to feel a bit overwhelmed with the mess and the never-ending to do list and very little ability to accomplish anything. Well, as I was throwing my own personal pity party, the phone rang. I checked the caller i.d. and realized a really good friend was calling. I debated not picking up, but did anyway. She picked up on my mood (hmm...was it the sobbing that gave it away? lol) and said she was on her way. She brought a mop and her kids and got right to work cleaning up my downstairs. I know she had a lot of other things she could have been doing with her time, but she chose to spend it on me. I am so grateful for her, her compassion and effort. It really made a big difference today.

THANK YOU!!!!!

who is this friend??!!! I need to make friends with this friend of yours so I might get my house cleaned too! :) Lucky you! It does get easier Janene, I promise, but those first 2-4 months, with 4 kids, it is a bit overwhelming and you feel like they are all working against you with the whole mess thing. But once you get a schedule going and you aren't up so much in the night, it does get much better.

I wish I had been more intuitive and picked up on that :(
Especially having been there myself.
I'm always just in awe at how much you do, you amaze me! Hang in there, like Erin said it does get easier.
I think you're great!!!

Forgot to add...Thanks for posting on my blog about our diaper rendevous- that will go down in history as one of the most awesomest, and most exciting nights ever!
You're such a great friend!

Keep hanging. I can only imagine what having a 4th would do to my house and sanity! Even though the older ones are helpers, I bet it will be easier when they go back to school and you're not so outnumbered! Love ya!!
